Fire tears through Queens home, 2 injured

A fire tore through the second floor of a private house in Queens today -- leaving one person with serious injuries, authorities said.

The blaze broke out around 8:10 a.m. in the home on 268th Street and 77th Avenue in the Glen Oaks section, the FDNY said.

Sixty-five firefighters and 12 units battled the flames and pulled the victim from the second floor of the house, the FDNY said.

A firefighter was also injured. Both victims were taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center, the FDNY said.

The fire is still ongoing and has not yet been placed under control.
