UES fire leaves 13 people hurt

Thirteen people were hurt this morning in a two-alarm blaze on the Upper East Side, authorities said.

The fire began about 3:40 a.m. on the twelfth floor of the Second Avenue building near 92nd Street, according to an FDNY spokesman.

It took 110 firefighters to extinguish the fire by around 5:30 a.m., the spokesman added.

Three firefighters are being treated at the Weill Cornell Medical Center for minor injuries. Ten civilians were also hurt and taken to area hospitals in stable condition, authorities added.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious at this time. Fire marshals are investigating its cause.
