Amtrak service suspended between New York and Boston

A freight train derailment east of New Haven, Conn. forced Amtrak to suspend service between New York City and Boston on Sunday morning.

New York emergency personnel said there were no injuries and no hazardous materials involved in the derailment.

Amtrak customers were told to contact Amtrak at 1-800-USARAIL or www.amtrak.com for information on their specific train.

There was no information about how long the line would remain closed.
