Shurmur to become Eagles’ OC

Former Browns coach Pat Shurmur is joining Chip Kelly's staff with the Eagles, a person familiar with the hiring told the Associated Press yesterday.

Shurmur is expected to be Philadelphia's offensive coordinator, according to the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the Eagles haven't announced any coaching moves.

Shurmur went 9-23 in two seasons in Cleveland. He was fired along with general manager Tom Heckert on Dec. 31.

CARDINALS: New coach Bruce Arians has filled his top assistant coaching positions by hiring Todd Bowles as defensive coordinator, Harold Goodwin as offensive coordinator and Tom Moore as assistant head coach/offense.

RAVENS: Jim Caldwell will remain Baltimore's offensive coordinator next season.

Caldwell moved from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator on Dec. 9 after coach John Harbaugh fired Cam Cameron.

With Caldwell directing the offense, the Ravens have won three straight playoff games to advance to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2000 season.

COLTS: Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning will get a chance to be teammates after all — at Sunday's Pro Bowl.

Luck earned his way to the game when New England's Tom Brady pulled out with an undisclosed injury.

FALCONS: Safeties Thomas DeCoud and William Moore have been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster.

They replace 49ers safeties Dashon Goldson and Donte Whitner, who are preparing for the Super Bowl.

JAGUARS: New coach Gus Bradley is keeping two veteran assistants from previous regimes.

Bradley says linebackers coach Mark Duffner and receivers coach Jerry Sullivan will stay on for the team's rebuilding process.

DOLPHINS: Guard Richie Incognito and defensive tackle Randy Starks have been added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster.

Incognito replaces Ravens guard Marshal Yanda, who will be playing in the Super Bowl, and Starks replaces Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who will miss the game because of an injury.

SEAHAWKS: Rookie quarterback Russell Wilson has been added to the NFC roster for the Pro Bowl after the Falcons' Matt Ryan withdrew due to an injury.

Wilson joins five Seattle teammates in the Pro Bowl — offensive linemen Max Unger and Russell Okung, running back Marshawn Lynch, safety Earl Thomas and kick returner Leon Washington.

BRONCOS: Guard Zane Beadles and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas were added to the AFC Pro Bowl squad.

They replace Wes Welker and Logan Mankins of the Patirots, who withdrew due to injuries following their loss to the Ravens in the AFC championship Sunday.

BILLS: Running back C.J. Spiller, defensive tackle Kyle Williams and free safety Jairus Byrd have been added to the AFC's Pro Bowl roster, replacing Super Bowl-bound Ravens Ray Rice, Haloti Ngata and Ed Reed.

RATINGS: The NFL's conference championship game television viewership is down from last season — even though three of the four teams were the same.

The 2012 AFC Championship Game between the Patriots and Ravens on CBS in the early slot drew 48.7 million viewers; Sunday's game between the same teams had 47.7 million viewers in the late slot. Last year's NFC title game between the Giants and 49ers on Fox was watched by 57.6 million people in the late slot, while this season's, with the 49ers facing the Falcons, was seen by 42 million in the early slot.
