Jets fire offensive coordinator after terrible season

Written By Unknown on Selasa, 08 Januari 2013 | 20.49

The Jets fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano on Monday night after one miserable season, according to a source.

Sparano was informed by coach Rex Ryan and owner Woody Johnson in a meeting Monday night that he would be one-and-done with the team. Sparano had two years remaining on his contract.

The Jets offense was a mess in 2012, finishing 30th overall. Quarterback Mark Sanchez regressed badly under Sparano and the Tim Tebow experiment failed under Sparano's watch.

Sparano was hired a year ago to replace Brian Schottenheimer. The Jets now will be moving to their third coordinator in three years. Norv Turner and Cam Cameron are possible targets for the Jets.
