LOWDOWN: After going up against Eclipse Award candidates Wise Dan, the likely 2012 Horse of the Year, and Little Mike last year, and not embarrassing himself either time, Doubles Partner should find this bunch easy pickings in his first start of the year. At 117 pounds, he doesn't have to give away any weight, and he is 2-for-3, with a second, over the Gulfstream turf course.

LOWDOWN: Mucho Macho Man has found a friendly spot to return making his first start since his narrow defeat in the Breeders' Cup Classic. The 5-year-old son of Macho Uno is 2-for-3 over the main track at Gulfsream, he has good tactical speed, runs his best races when fresh, and the distance hits him right between the eyes.

LAST WEEK: At Aqueduct, Kimono (9-5) was fifth in the Ruthless; at Gulfstream, Dominus scratched from the Fort Lauderdale; at Santa Anita, Tritap (9-1) was second, beaten a head, in the San Fernando paying $9.80 to place, $6.40 to show.
