Irony has found a new home: riding in a car driven by Sheila Burgess, director of the Massachusetts Highway Safety Division.
The Boston Globe found that Burgess has 34 entries on her driving record dating back to 1982, including seven accidents, four speeding violations and one failure to wear a seat belt.
She's on leave now, after suffering a head injury following an Aug. 24 crash.

Two pelicans blown all the way to Rhode Island by Hurricane Sandy got a far less turbulent ride home.
The two big birds were nursed back to health after they landed. One of them had a Fish and Wildlife Service tag, showing it had been in North Carolina, a popular summer home for Florida pelicans.
Sandy's feathered victims were loaded on a jet and taken back to Florida.

The top cop in Pekin, Ill., reminded drinking drivers they have transportation choices: a yellow cab home or a black-and-white car to jail.
Tazewell County Sheriff Robert Huston painted half of one of his squad cars like a yellow taxicab, in a stark reminder to tipsy holiday revelers tempted to hit the roads.
"Everyone who sees that thing will be talking about it, and that's the point," Huston said.

Audrey Dostie, 35, also tagged her ex-hubby's corporate headquarters, authorities said.
