Three firefighters, two residents injured in Central Park apartment fire

Firefighters are battling a blaze at building near Central Park that has injured five people, including three firefighters, officials said.

The fire broke out on the 14th floor of a building on Central Park South near Columbus Circle at around 7:23 a.m., according to an FDNY spokeswoman.

Two civilians were injured, including one who was taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital with burns. Three firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries, officials said.

The cause of the firer is unclear, officials said.
