
Firefighters battled a smoky blaze in Williamsburg this morning, authorities said.
Sixty of the Bravest rushed to a fire that started in a bodega on the first floor of a South 4th Street building near Hooper Street about 6:50 a.m., according to an FDNY spokesman.
Smoke filled the three-story building, and residents had to be evacuated, according to a witness.
It was extinguished shortly before 8 a.m., and no one was hurt.
it was not immediately clear what sparked the flames.
